This is a rare documentary shot entirely in Tibetan, featuring the story of Gyurme Dorji Rinpoche's life work of rebuilding the Khamzhung Monastery and passing on his lineage to the next generation of Tibetans. The film is produced and directed by Gyurme Dorji Rinpoche's principle student, Tulku Sonam Rinpoche, the abbot of Chokhor Ling Monastery in Lhasa.

“Khamzhung Monastery” is located in the Gaiyu Township of Palyul County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province, neighboring a national conservation area for the white-lipped deer, approximately 70 km from the county capital, with an altitude of approximately 4000 m.
800 years ago, a descendent of King Songtsan Gampo named Ga Anang Dampa, built this monastery, but it was destroyed through historical reasons. After China had restored the policies on religion in the 1980’s, Khamzhung Monastery was rebuilt by the great aspirations and blessings of the current head abbot Gyurme Dorji Rinpoche. By the compassion and influence of Rinpoche, this has become one of the holiest purelands for Dharma practitioners.
Currently, Tulku Sonam Rinpoche is working tirelessly on the "Vajra Guru Project 2016", which aims to rebuild Guru Rinpoche's Lotus Light Palace at Khamshung Monastery that was lost in flames generations ago. It is a great and sacred responsibility for Rinpoche because it was prophesied by the 19th century Mahasiddha Pema Dundul that the palace would be restored in this generation. It is also the greatest wish of the Venerable Gyurme Dorji Rinpoche, aged nearly 80, to see the prophecy fulfilled.
