VIEW AT FULL SCREEN
To observe the effect of water on the frictional force of cutting concrete with & without water, a 12 feet long x 13 inches wide x 3 inches deep concrete slab was poured using a Quickcrete 4000psi mix. After curing for 7 days, it achieved approximately 2500psi.
Using a 14" circular concrete saw, eight (8) horizontal 13 inch long x 1 inch deep control joints were cut. Four (4) cuts used water. The other four (4) used none. The following demonstrates the advantages of each.
