4 lessons I learned while battling cancer | Sara Khatib | TEDxLAU

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. On August 23, 2014, Sara Khatib left 4 objects, symbolizing 4 lessons, in our shared time capsule. These were the lessons she wished to share with the world.

Little did we know that this would be her enduring legacy.

Sara passed away 14 days later, but not without ensuring that her call to action would be heard by all.
Sara Khatib – 4th year pharmacy student at LAU – had experienced a lot of hardships for her young age.

Battling cancer, living with an amputation, and enduring the accompanying pain left her with the capacity for so much wisdom, happiness, and humanity. Giving this TEDx talk was on her bucket list as she wanted to share her message with the world!

Exactly two weeks after standing on the TEDxLAU stage, Sara passed away on September 5, 2014, leaving behind her a huge following that continues to live by her inspirational message.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
