The Diary of Mimi

The video is an exploratory documentation by NBHM on the Rock bee honey gatherers of Mimi village, Kiphire District located in the Eastern part of the State bordering Myanmar.
It captures both the socio-cultural-economic aspects of the people in the region as well as the process of wild honey hunting by the dare devil honey hunters of Mimi and the hardships they endure.
Our objective was to document the age old dying art which has never been documented before. Through this video documentation the Mission has been able to find ways to improvise on their existing harvesting practices and also disseminate to the honey hunters on the importance of sustainable honey harvest of wild honey bee colonies.
