Adam had previously pleaded guilty to entering the UK without valid entry clearance and had served a prison sentence. After his release, he refused to cooperate with the police or court proceedings in the attempted kidnapping case, causing significant delays. He was eventually convicted following a guilty plea. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for 12 December after a pre-sentence report is conducted.
