Qiandao Lake | Spirit of Water Performance

"Qiandao Lake · Spirit of Water" is the iconic large-scale tourism performance of Qiandao Lake. The whole performance uses water as the link through time and space, combining tourism, technology, and culture of Chun'an. The 66-minute-long performance with the touching acting of performers enables the audience to feel the sorrows and joys of Chun'an people over the past thousand years, and to know about "the past and the present" of Chun'an's age-long history and its profound culture. It also enriches the connotations of Qiandao Lake tourism and its nighttime activities. Now, it has become an important part of Qiandao Lake tourism.
Introduction of the Performance
“Qiandao Lake · Spirit of Water” created by Qiandao Lake Tourism Group is the first county-level large-scale normalized performance in Zhejiang Province. Since its premiere in 2013, it has received more than 2 million citizens and tourists and has become the "golden business card" of Qiandao Lake Culture and Tourism.
The performance is based on "water", with the picturesque scenery of Qiandao Lake and the 1,800-year-old history of Chun'an County as the background, integrating technology, culture, and tourism. It was designed and produced by the creative stage art team for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games and was written, directed, and created by Zou Youkai, senior director of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. The performance is 66 minutes long and is divided into five acts, "The Ancient Watercourses", "Qingxi Heroes", "The State of Famous Documents and Eminent Scholars", "The Magnificent Feats in Mountains and Rivers", and "The Beautiful Water under the Sun". They are highly independent and interconnected and together, they compose a legend of the spirit of water.
