How to Program and Reprogram OBD 2 Modules (Example Code P0326 Knock Sensor)

On this video we go through the steps of programming a GM PCM powertrain control unit. We do this using a Snap on pass through pro 2 step by step. This is not the only option for a programmer. If you do not have a programmer there are a few options out there for you. These programmers go by the name of J2534. Research your options before you make a purchase or feel free to ask us our opinion. After hooking up the programmer and verifying the vin we than we go to the gm website and start the process from the gm side. Using the website we had a few hiccups but over all we were able to get the program installed successfully. We found the reprogram option from a tsb or technical service bulletin using Mitchell repair software. We had a code and using the code we searched through technical service bulletins. We found the check engine to cause no drivability problems in the car. The check engine light was for a knock sensor P0326. All the engine data was correct. That is what directed us to check for technical service bulletins or tsb. This is an overall process, but this was the correct process for the correct repair. If there are tsb's relating to a certain concern you are having on any care always perform the tsb's first. Thanks for watching. Please direct any questions to info@autoeclinic.com
