Adding Drag and Drop Functionality to your Microsoft Access Database

In this video, I demonstrate how easy it is to add drag and drop capabilities to a Microsoft Access database for:

• Processing files (text, csv, images, ...)
• Automating Word/Excel/... files
• Working with Outlook e-mails, contacts, appointments, ...

The general concept is always the same and you can use the Drag and Drop to push data into your database, work with the files directly through automation, create zip files, e-mail, ... whatever you wish to do.

I forgot 1 very important thing regarding this control, in design view, right-click on the control itself and then 'ListViewCtrl Object', then select 'Properties' to open a properties dialog for the control where you can change various properties not directly accessible via the Access Property Sheet.

Also, If you want to gain Intellisense in VBA you need to first add a reference to the library by manually browsing to the MSCOMCTL.OCX file location. Then you need to declare the control/object variable 'As MSComctlLib.ListView'.

Also, note there is no 64-bit of common controls, so this won't work in 64-bit installations of Office! One more reason to shy away from 64-bit Office.
