Gutter does not need very much grade/slope to work properly. A subtle slope is best. It will allow the installer to go a longer distance before needing a downspout and look better on the home.

Some websites say you need at least 1 inch of slope per 20 feet of eavestrough. We feel that a more sublte slope is totally ok and give more flexibility for downspout placement.
Adding 1 inch per 20 feet is too much when the downspout is sometimes almost 60 feet from the high point. This would give a total of 3 inches of drop. This much drop on a 6 inch fascia will have about 1.5 inches of the eavestrough hanging off the fascia and may not be aesthetically pleasing. Taylor the amount of slope to the distance you have to travel to a downspout.

Downspouts must be installed in good drainage locations and its best to add subtle slope if required to achieve this.

The more downspouts the sales person recommends on a home the less precise the installers have to be. A quality install will often enable a problem downspout to be eliminated. Using large 3x4 inch down-pipes are a must to get maximum drainage.
