Don't dream, do. Russia's top businessman

Business phenomenon Oleg Tinkov shared with RT secrets of his success, explaining how enterprises outside of the energy sector can flourish in Russia.
Few remember now that Russia's most successful businessman started his career as a mere speculator, buying and re-selling champagne and perfume to his friends at university.
"In Russian the word 'speculation' has a negative connotation," Tinkov laughs. "In English, it is very positive. So I encourage everyone to be a speculator and to speculate. And don't dream -- do instead. Ten minutes of dreams before going to sleep is enough."
In his career, Tinkov changed a wide range of spheres. Before setting up the world famous Tinkoff brewery, he used to be a kitchen appliances dealer and to own a frozen food company -- that was then bought by billionaire Roman Abramovich.
"I like challenges," Tinkov told RT. "Being an entrepreneur, I like to create something that no one could have expected from me."
One of Tinkov's latest projects is a commercial bank called Tinkoff Credit Systems. Apart from that, the businessman has written an autobiography and is hosting an internet program. In fact, Tinkov is bursting with ideas.
"I would like to build an interesting online business," he told RT. "A businessman must be a risk-taker. You also have to be honest -- otherwise your career would end up very quickly."
Unlike many skeptics, the businessman believes Russia has great business potential.
"Most people are very talented, you just have to find these talents," Tinkov said. "I like to promote entrepreneurship in Russia. People start to see that not all entrepreneurs are bad, that they are creating jobs and paying taxes. It's like my contribution to society. I feel this is my social mission. I'm an evangelist for businessmen inside of my own lovely Russia."
