C Seventh (C7) Chord Backing Track
This video provides a professional backing track for a C Dominant Seventh Chord (C7) concert pitch featuring a quartet of electric piano, electric guitar, electric bass and acoustic drums. The band holds on to the C7 chord for an extended period throughout the entire backing track.
This backing track can also be used as accompaniment for a D7 chord for Bb instruments and a A7 chord for Eb instruments.
You can practice the Dominant Seventh , BeBop and Blues Scales along with the backing track. These scales should be practiced in 3rds as well as ascending and descending. An alternate approach is to use the chromatic scale and also the dominant seventh arpeggio in all of its inversions to create new sounds. As a substitute, the Whole Tone Scale can add tension against the dominant seventh chord.
The goal however should be to eventually learn to react to what your ears are telling you to play, rather than using an academic scale chord approach.
