DIY Lithium Battery Wiring Harness and BMS (Battery Monitor System)

I'm using the original Chevy battery harness to make a new custom wiring harness to balance cells. My DIY powerwall is made with used Chevy Volt lithium batteries. It is 18.4 kwh with 96 cell groups. I need to add a BMS to monitor the cells for increased safety.

For almost a year I've been using the lithium batteries with no BMS. This is not recommended and is un-safe. I was constantly checking each cell with my multi-meter. It took a while to make a plan of how to install a BMS.

I'm using a cheap $50 BMS simply as a monitor because it has bluetooth built in. This is usually used as a battery management system. I'm only using the monitoring function. It was difficult to make the app work. Now that I have the app on my phone I can see the voltage of each cell group. Nice!

There are dozens of videos on my channel about the whole build of the DIY powerwall and it's solar PV panels for charging. The build is part of an effort to become more energy independent and off-grid.
