Laser Cladding Inside Twin Barrels

Inner walls of extrusion barrels are subjected to severe wear and corrosion mechanisms. To counterbalance this phenomenon, barrels are coated by thick and hard coatings. Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) technique can be employed for producing WC reinforced NiCr coatings inside the extrusion barrels by means of an inner diameter laser head.
