Hands-on with the Iomega Jaz Drive – Review of the Notoriously Unreliable Follow-up to the Zip Drive
The specifications and capabilities looked great on paper, but in practice, Iomega’s Jaz Drive was the cause of many, many gigabytes of lost data over its lifespan. A high capacity, low cost per MB storage device billed as the perfect backup solution for individuals and small enterprises with lots of data, this hard-disk based removable cartridge solution was plagued with reliability woes.
Undeterred by this, YesterYear’s Mac Games tries the Jaz drive out, to get a taste of what a Macintosh from the 90s could do with this retro storage device. This extensive review looks at the highs and lows of Iomega’s much hyped follow-up to the popular (and also flawed) Zip drive.
