ESTONIA EUROVISION 2022 - REACTING TO STEFAN ‘HOPE’ (FIRST LISTEN)

Hi guys, and welcome back to my channel, to my second video of the day! If you’re new here, my name’s Rachel and I’m a huge Eurovision fan as well as a musician. In todays video, I reacted to for the first time, to Estonias entry for this years upcoming contest. ‘Hope’ by Stefan was selected at Esti Laul, after last years failure to qualify at Eurovision.

I really enjoyed this track. The best thing about it was the combination of Stefan’s rich vocals and the catchy melody line of the chorus. There are also some lovely uses of irregular 6-4 time signatures within the music which really excited me as a musician, as they play with the listeners expectations and add an interesting interruption to the flow of the piece. The basic and stripped back instrumental quality of the track was also something I liked, there was no need for anything showy - all we needed was a guitar and a good quality bass line and beat. Overall, the song was great, albeit a little safe in areas, but a fantastic improvement for Estonia.
