A viral video on Weibo has touched hearts across China, showing two stray dogs coming to the rescue of an injured canine friend after it was hit by a car.

CCTV footage from Changzhou city shows a dog that had gotten out of a house and was hit by a passing vehicle, leaving it lying motionless in the middle of the road.

In a touching moment, two homeless dogs approached the injured animal, seemingly trying to wake it up. One of the strays then pulled the dog to the side of the road using its mouth. Soon after, the injured dog regained consciousness and was able to return home safely.

Local media outlet Jiangsu Lizhi News reported that the dog's owner confirmed it had not suffered serious injuries and is now doing well.

The two stray dogs who helped have since been adopted, the report added.
