Soils and Spuds: Trying new tools to preserve soil biology

It can be hard to build soil health while fighting aggressive pests and diseases. But thanks to a McCain Innovation Hub on his farm, Brett Reynolds is finding that new potato varieties may allow him to swap out fumigation for chemistries that aren't so hard on soil microbes. Resistant varieties are one more tool that's allowing him to build soil health so he can grow the best potato.
