Senior Danny Michael has found many guiding mentors at Alfred University. One influential faculty member was Professor of Psychology Danielle Gagne, who inspired him to study psychology.

A person playing a drum set Description automatically generated“I took Intro to Psychology with Dr. Gagne, and that class blew my mind,” says Danny. “I realized that there were a lot of things in this world that people are suffering from … maybe I want to be a psychologist. I want to use the knowledge I’ve learned here to go out into the world and help people.”

And then Danny realized there was a powerful intersection between psychology and music and declared music as a minor. “Music is therapy,” says Danny. He hopes to incorporate music into his own practice someday.
