Ethereum built a global, decentralized computing platform that takes advantage of the security and composability of blockchains and extends those attributes to ALL its applications!

Literally everything you can think of is on Ethereum.

Ethereum opens wide the potential of what blockchain and crypto can enable.

Ethereum enables elaborate financial tools and massive multiplayer interactive games with trustless ownership. Because Ethereum is Turing complete, it is only limited by our imaginations and perhaps how much we’re willing to spend on transaction fees.

Ethereum can be used to codify, decentralize, secure and trade anything.

Because Ethereum can do so much, it has gained a critical mass of developers and decentralized applications that continue to feed off each other and grow Ethereum network effects, to the point where their demand for block space clogs the network.

Any two people can now enter into a decentralized contract running on top of Ethereum, facilitating complex agreements that run autonomously as programmed, without any downtime, censorship, or third-party intermediaries.

Ethereum takes these smart contracts one step further. Ethereum enables decentralized entities to run these the contracts not just people. Contracts can run smart contracts themselves! Ethereum facilitates so many things that were never previously feasible.

Ether is the native currency of Ethereum, which is consumed by these contracts. The Ether “gas” is what runs the network.

If bitcoin is digital gold, Ethereum is the world machine and Ether is the “digital oil” that keeps it running.

Ether is also becoming increasingly referred to as a “triple point asset”:
1) Ether accrues value as a commodity, as “digital oil” used to pay to use the network. This very Keynesian form of value accrual is similar to where you need to buy commodities in dollars, so the dollar gains value.
2) Ether accrues value as a capital asset staked in the network. Capital assets (such as a stocks) receives dividends similar to how Ether receives fees paid to use the network.
3) Ether accrues value as a monetary asset like bitcoin IF Ether continues to burn network gas fees and become more scarce, and if the network reinforces its credible neutrality and censorship resistance.
