Making a Leather Lunch Bag

Making a lunch bag out of leather isn't something you'd usually imagine doing, but a leather lunch bag is a great eco-friendly project to gift or sell. Making a leather lunch bag will save you lots of paper and plastic bags over time, and leather lunch bags are super beautiful looking as well!

To make this leather lunch bag we used a nice pull-up hide from Weaver Leather, cut to a pattern we drew out. We hand stitched the leather with polyester threads, and used solid copper rivets and plated brass trim to finish off this design. We decided to use a single external seam for our leather lunch bag, however you can do hidden seams or gussets or even piping if you'd like - it's all up to you! Just make sure to use some sort of dyed or oiled leather, as it will make the inevitable food spills easy to clean off your leather lunch bag in the future!
