27 de Octubre de 1968 finalizan los Juegos de la XIX Olimpiada en el Estadio Olímpico Universitario de la Ciudad de México, el público en el estadio con sombreros al aire recibió a los representantes de las naciones participantes. Avery Brundage presidente del Comité Olímpico Internacional hizo la declaratoria de clausura invitando a la juventud del mundo a reunirse, en cuatro años, en Munich para la celebración de la XX Olimpiada. Luego de la retirada de la bandera Olímpica y del apagado de la flama olímpica mil mariachis interpretaron el "Son de la Negra" y las "Golondrinas".
