Good morning and welcome to Visordown. My names Toad and today we are looking at two bikes that have made waves and headlines since their launch. The Aprilia RS660 and the recently launched Yamaha R7.
Both machines have the hope of the supersport market pinned on them, as they look to fill the sizable void left by machines like the CBR600RR, Yamaha R6, and Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja.
With declining sales for a few years now, it was becoming clear that the supersports segment needed a shake-up. To succeed at this, the manufacturers needed to put a bigger price gap between the 600 to 750cc sportsbikes and the 1,000cc plus flagship machines. Enter a new range of cost effective, parallel twin cylinder machines!
