Victorian Labor’s ‘arrogance’ on show after minister’s ‘disgusting’ comment

Sky News host Rita Panahi says the fact Victoria’s minister for veterans’ affairs wasn’t immediately rebuked for his “disgusting comment” shows just how “arrogant Labor are” in the state.

Victoria’s Veterans’ Affairs Minister Shaun Leane has come under heavy criticism for his comments relating to Coalition MPs attending ANZAC Day.

Mr Leane has been slammed for his disrespectful remarks made during an upper house sitting on Wednesday when he targeted opposition MPs who he said only took an interest in ANZAC Day to “get a selfie and look sad”.

“Just to get your selfie, looking all sad, when you’re putting the wreath in front of there,” he said

“When you push the war widows and veterans out of your way, you’ll get your chance”.

Ms Panahi said it was “absolutely a disgusting comment” made by the minister.

“The fact that he wasn’t immediately rebuked by his current leader, the acting premier … shows you just how arrogant Labor are in this state,” she said.
