Fix Broken Keys on a Yamaha P-45 Digital Piano

I've known people throughout my life that are hesitant to open up items and do a quick repair; choosing instead to replace the item. I hope this video encourages such people to go ahead and have a "peak under the hood", if only to get an idea of how such a device works.

As for finding a proper replacement, a quick search for "replacement key for yamaha [model name]" should get you what you need. It looks like they are more available for the Clavinova series (which are incompatible), but you should be able to find something on ebay. As I mentioned in the video, there was a seller from the UK with p-45 keys available, last time I looked.

Also, as mentioned in the video, make sure you don't void your warranty (if you have one). DON'T open up an electronic device while it's plugged in AND you should know that SOME DEVICES have Capacitors that will hold LETHAL levels of electricity EVEN WHEN UNPLUGGED. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Having said that. If you need to fix your p-45, this is a very straight forward process. And, it's always rewarding to take a peak inside modern technology - even more rewarding when it's a piano that will function properly again after fixing it. :)
