Women Break Silence Surrounding Generational Health

Black women suffer from a number of preventable diseases more than any other race, that usually result in fatal outcomes. After seeing the how the lack of conversation was affecting her community, Lisa Cunningham went from directing videos in the hip-hop industry to spearheading national awareness campaigns on women's health. She is sharing the lessons learned from her new documentary "Me Period." Portia also sits with Lisa, mother-daughter duo Crystal & Jordyn Gilliam, two-time breast cancer survivor Tia Tomlin-Harris, and physician Dr. Julianne Adams-Birt to discuss the importance of talking about Black women’s health.
