Police fatally shoot 26-year-old man after pursuit in North Baltimore
Officers are responding to a “police involved” shooting in North Baltimore, the Baltimore Police Department said on social media. The shooting took place on the 4600 block of York Road in the Kernewood and Wilson Park area, police said.
An officer is heard in recorded dispatch audio yelling “shots fired” repeatedly at around 1:30 p.m., before other police are dispatched to York Road. A few minutes later, police are heard saying that a “suspect” is down and that the “officer’s OK.” Police Commissioner Richard Worley is on the scene, and several blocks of York Road are currently closed, the department said, encouraging the public to avoid the area.
