Alexander Lukashenko, Europe’s self-professed last dictator, should require no introduction. Weaponized migration, aiding the Russian war effort against Ukraine, and the crushing of opposition and free media at home – Lukashenko is a man of many dubious talents. However, with a recent series of pardons for political prisoners and the general unease about Moscow’s desire to extend its control over Minsk’s policies, questions are being asked about his future direction. Can Lukashenko still try to turn things around in an unlikely redemption arc, or has this ship already sailed a long time ago? To answer these questions, Jonasz Rewiński was joined by Anatol Kotau, from the Belarusian Democratic Forces Forum.
