1970 AMC AMX - 390 CI / 4 Speed - Survivor with Original Paint - Walkaround
1970 AMC AMX survivor walkaround of the car while running. This AMX is equipped with a 390 cubic inch motor and 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. It retains all of its original body and a majority of its original paint (passenger fender repainted by dealer when car was new due to lot damage and the cowl was repainted). Equipped with original Trend Setter Sidewinder exhaust side pipes to give it that mean growl (this was a dealer option only, never a factory option). Custom removeable covers were made to cover the black section under the front fender so the entire exhaust is one smooth and consistent color.
Some consider the AMX the forgotten muscle car and an underdog, as their popularity is nowhere near that of some of the models from the Big Three (Ford, General Motors, Chrysler), but they are very fun, well styled, and unique cars. The AMX was manufactured by AMC (American Motors Corporation) and was on of the few cars on the market at the time that did not come with a back seat. The AMX was its own unique model from 1968 - 1970. During this three year run, a total of 19,134 were built (only 4,116 for 1970). In 1971, the AMX became a optional performance package for the Javelin. Side pipe exhaust was an AMC option you could order through your dealer at the time.
