Witness the slum lifestyle of the infamous Parola Compound in Tondo Manila Philippines. Just google this place, and all you will see is disasters, fires and criminal activity, but it's not what I saw. One of the biggest slums in the Tondo area, it is home to well over 60,000+ residents. Despite the conditions, and like many slum in the Metro Manila area, this place is filled with happy and content kids and families, I say that because I actually explored and chatted up with the locals. Would they want to have a better life? Of course, but from what I saw, and what I have witnessed in many places like this, the community are experts in making the best of it the slum lifestyle, and for some........ they love to call it their home.
