All BMWs Get Mechanically Totaled. This is One. Saving It!

This video is a start of a series where I save a BMW that was mechanically totaled out almost 6 months ago. This car had its turbo fail, the entire timing system and it has various oil leaks which would have cost more than it is worth to repair.

In this video I start the process of taking it apart to take the timing chain. This is a 2013 F30 328i with the N20 motor. If you weren't aware the N20 has a common failure point which is the timing chain. They are also known for turbo failures. This holds true for the N26 as well.

In my opinion a car should last at least 10 years or 150K miles before it ends up costing more to repair than it's worth. As a DIYer I didn't want to see this car end up being parted out or scrapped with less than 100K miles on it and offered to repair it for a big savings to the owner provided they could let the car spend some time with me to film the process.

If you want to see a BMW get saved then tune in for this series.
