Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 EF L IS USM repairing the smooth-tight zoom lock ring to avoid zoom creep

This video is about repairing the smooth-tight zoom lock ring on a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM lens. I had a Canon 100-400mm lens which had problems with the zoom lock machanism. When it was tightened, the lens can be expanded, so the zoom lock did not hold the lens in its position. So I had to remove the zoom lock mechanism, remove the original coating from the metal ring and replace it with a stripe of painters tape, then assemble the lens. In this video I'll show you how I did that.
