Tree growth is a major source of carbon sequestration, a process that acts as a carbon sink for the life of the wood product. In turn, demand for wood products helps ensure forested land remains forested. Meet Kendra Wiard, a Silviculture Forester at The Westervelt Company. Kendra makes plans for regeneration following a harvest to get trees off to a good start, making sure they are as healthy as they can be. “I feel an enormous sense of responsibility to be a steward of the land because it is ensuring the health and safety of future generations."
