On The Newshour Agenda today with Padmaja Joshi, tune into the Congress vs yoga debate. Today was the 7th International Yoga day celebrated across the world. However, Congress had something different. Party leader Abhishek Singhvi inexplicably gave this day a communal twist by mocking and pitting the chanted phrase- Om against Allah. Rahul Gandhi joined the charade and ridiculed the event on his Twitter handle. On this, Sujata Paul, a political analyst, commented discouraging Congress’ political agenda by stating that even in pre-Vedic times, Yoga has existed. She doubts why are we mixing religion with yoga when everybody does it.
