David Ogden Stiers was an American actor, director, and voice actor, best known for his portrayal of the pompous and aristocratic Major Charles Emerson Winchester III on the hit television series MAS*H. Born in Peoria, Illinois in 1942, Stiers attended the University of Oregon before beginning his acting career in San Francisco. He went on to appear in numerous films and TV shows, including Beauty and the Beast, The Dead Zone, and Stargate Atlantis. In addition to his on-screen work, Stiers was also a prolific voice actor, lending his distinctive voice to animated films such as Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Lilo & Stitch. Stiers passed away in 2018 at the age of 75, leaving behind a rich legacy of memorable performances.
