Tornado Roars over the Devon Hills. 60163 Hauls The Summer Cornishman. 23rd June 2019

The wind is blowing from the East, there is grey cloud and visibility is poor but luckily this gives a rare opportunity to film at Culverlane Bridge an excellent, although dangerous, location on Rattery Bank. 60163 is clearly going well, being up on the schedule all the way from Bristol, and like her meteorological namesake (the) Tornado is heard approaching long before she comes into view with the visual spectacle matching the tremendous exhaust sounds as she storms up the bank and away towards Marley Head in the Dartmoor foothills. The return journey is a last minute grab shot captured in the Hems valley about a mile from Totnes as my chosen location was found to be overgrown. Here again the approaching roar is like a real Tornado and the spectacle of the pass truly impressive. My filming in Cornwall was ruined by a technical issue with the main camera so apologies to the four good people I met at Wearde Quay who were looking forward to this upload.
