Encounters in China | Binke Lenhardt and Dong Hao

When Binke Lenhardt was still a young overseas student from Germany, she met Dong Hao at an architecture school in New York City. During their study and work, they got to know each other better, and eventually fell in love. In 2005, they set up a studio called “Crossboundaries,” which drew many young architects from all over the world. From 2015 to 2018, they devoted themselves to building two creatively stylish kindergartens in Jiangsu Province (one in Beisha Village, another in Shuoji Town), which are perfect combinations between nature and architecture and which make kids feel at home. Their story demonstrates to us what amazing things a couple with different cultural backgrounds can achieve.
