// The goal of the Express Portuguese series

The goal of the Express Portuguese series is to help you bridge the gap between slow Portuguese and native-like Portuguese, and enrich your vocabulary so that you can express yourself better.

If you are an intermediate learner, and you know the theory, but you struggle to understand native speakers speaking at normal speed, either because you don’t have the necessary vocabulary or because you’re not used to listening to native speakers speaking fast, then you are going to benefit from these drills.

// How the exercise works

This is how it goes, I say a sentence in slow Portuguese. Next, I explain the sentence, again in slow Portuguese, focusing on important vocabulary and expressions, giving you other examples and synonyms. You hear the sentence again, but at normal speed. Finally, you listen to a short text, also at normal speed, where the first sentence is included.

At this point, you have the necessary vocabulary and phonetic information to be able to identify and understand the sentence in the text at normal speed. Remember that repetition is key, so listen to the audio several times.
