African American Association of Ghana AAAG Juneteenth Observance 19th June 2020
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 when the Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston Texas and told enslaved Africans they were free.
This information was late 2.5 years after the Emancipation proclamation (Freed enslaved people in Confederate States) as and 5 months after the 13 Amendment of Abolished Slavery.
