RA Live: Harvey Sutherland in Melbourne

An intimate recording of "Amethyst," recorded in the Australian artist's own studio.

As we found out when he stopped by our London office for an RA Session in 2016, Harvey Sutherland, AKA Mike Katz, is a skilful, composed live performer. Earlier this year, while we were in Melbourne shooting the upcoming Real Scenes documentary, we caught Katz and his bandmates—Graeme Pogson on drums, Luke Hodgson on bass—performing the 2018 track "Amethyst" at Swimming Pool Studio, the studio he runs with Pogson and Phil Gionfriddo. The trio's performance starts out mellow and gradually builds to a full-blown broken beat freakout.
