Devil's Nose Train Ride - Alausi, Ecuador.

In this video we take a tour on the Devil's Nose Train. The Devil’s Nose train ride takes you from the town of Alausi on about a forty five minute ride down to Silambe and then back up again to Alausi. The train awards its passengers with gorgeous mountain scenery. The style of the passenger cars takes you back to another point in time.

The Devil's Nose Train considered one of the world’s greatest feats of engineering when it was built in 1899 as it had to descend 1,000 meters in just 12 km. It was able to accomplish this by following a zigzag path carved into the rock, slowly moving forwards and backwards until reaching the bottom. The construction was responsible for some 2000 deaths.
