Pro-Hong Kong defensive won’t ‘further Biden family fortune’ so it will not happen

Herald Sun Business Columnist Terry McCrann says it is unlikely a Biden administration would lead a global counter to China’s actions in Hong Kong as it would not “further increase the fortune” of the Biden family.

China’s strict draconian security laws are now in full force in Hong Kong which will target any political dissidence or subversion of centralised Chinese power.

Mr McCrann said the laws show the “brutal reality” of the agreement struck between China and the United Kingdom in 1997.

“I don’t know how the rest of the world can actually face up to it. That’s if indeed the rest of the world was prepared to actually unite to face up to it”.

“I don’t know how the confrontational relationship between the United States and China is going to further increase the fortune of the Biden family.

“I really don’t see a Biden administration doing anything at all in terms of leading a global counter to what China is doing in Hong Kong.”
