Yacht Club Boys - The super special picture of the year

This is the last line up of this quartet and the most stable one - at least for five years they worked with this line-up. The picture shows the group in 1937 during a "lying down strike" in a radio studio, but I don't know who's who.
The fact that swing master Goodman was a part of this session guarantees that these late recordings of the group are very sought after even by collectors who have no clue who or what the Yacht Club Boys were.
In this selection, the aim of their satiric wit is the German director Ernst Lubitsch (1892-1947). Lubitsch was a pupil of Max Reinhardt and after initial successes in Germany soon became also a star in Hollywood. Amongst his best known creations are Anna Boleyn, Lady Windemere's Fan, The Patriot, The Love Parade and Ninotchka with Greta Garbo. In 1938 he was appointed president of the European Film Fund.
