Japanese Woodworking - Raised Area Doubles as Both the Floor and Ceiling [Season 2 - Part 7]

To make a structure that doubles as both a floor and a ceiling, a 30 mm (1.18”) joistless material* must be used. It’s an unusual construction.
*Joistless material: A material for construction method using no joist.
