Unreported World meets the policewomen tackling what’s been described as Pakistan’s gender violence epidemic, after the high profile killing of a woman brutally murdered by a male friend.
A wave of violence against women is sweeping across Pakistan. Figures suggest nearly one in three women have experienced domestic violence from a man they know personally. In one of the most insecure places to be a women, hundreds if not thousands of women are murdered, assaulted or kidnapped each year. Rarely do their male attackers face justice.
