HSCI 574: Multidisciplinary Health Part 2: Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Persons
In this course, students gain a deeper understanding of core transgender and other gender non-conforming health issues in its multifaceted complexity. There will be a thorough examination of health disparities in regard to physical health, mental health, and psychosocial factors, including hormone therapy and gender affirming surgeries. Structural policy barriers such as those entrenched in health care access will be discussed.
