John McLaughlin — The 60's Recordings (Compilation)

John Mclaughlin is considered one of the world’s greatest guitarists and fusionists. The fact that Jeff Beck (a guitarist’s guitarist) considers him the world’s greatest living guitarist, would warrant McLaughlin being called a “guitarist’s guitarist’s guitarist”.

Before the release of his debut album Extrapolation in 1969, McLaughlin was a voracious session musician and collaborator, with a rapidly developing knowledge of modern jazz, hard bebop and of course R and B, playing in anything that interested him musically, and also doing the standard rhythm guitarist stint for around 15 months in a variety of different popular music settings to maintain income in 60’s London.
Some of the tracks presented are absolute gems, and show just how far John Mclaughlin had come along both technically and musically, even before the release of his debut. It also shows his good taste; he seemed to gel and stick to the best musicians around him at the time (mid to late 60’s).

This compilation presented here is for educational purposes, and no copyright infringement is intended. If you feel a copyright has been breached, let me know, and I will take down this video. I hope you all enjoy it.
