TikTok at UVA: Student Perspectives

TikTok, the trending social media app specializing in short form videos, has recently been contested as concerns arise related to data security. The app is owned by Byte Dance, a Bejing-based company, and the United States government has taken to banning it on all federal devices. Some states have begun to ban the app as well, with universities and colleges around the nation beginning to question if TikTok should be banned on their campuses as well. We as UVA students their thoughts on the current situation.
