steady: A steady flow is one in which the conditions (velocity, pressure and cross- section) may differ from point to point but DO NOT change with time. unsteady: If at any point in the fluid, the conditions change with time, the flow is described as unsteady.

What is an example of steady flow and unsteady flow?
Many examples can be given from everyday life- water flow out of a tap which has just been opened. This flow is unsteady to start with, but with time does become steady. Some flows, though unsteady, become steady under certain frames of reference. These are called pseudosteady flows.

What is the unsteady flow?
A flow in which quantity of liquid flowing per second is not constant, is called unsteady flow. Unsteady flow is a transient phenomenon. It may be in time become steady or zero flow. For. example when a valve is closed at the discharge end of the pipeline.

Laminar flows may be unsteady as well, but they are the only type of fluid flows that can technically considered to be steady. The difference with laminar flows is that they generally move at slower velocities, lower Reynolds numbers, and move slower relative to their viscosities.
