Casio ProTrek WSD-F20 : Field Test #1 - ABC & Maps

The Casio ProTrek WSD-F20, focusing on the ABC functions and maps. This new Casio smartwatch has so many features and functions...and I'll make a bunch more videos on them !

On this hike, I use the Garmin Fenix 3 and Suunto Core Glacier Gray watches as references for the Casio in regards to the altimeter and compass functions. All three watches showed roughly the same elevation, and exactly the same compass readings.

The map function I utilized on the Casio was Google Maps, the native Android Wear app that's the default mapping system for the watch. I show the satellite and terrain "skins" (views) mostly, even while an internet connection is not available. Overall, the Casio performed much like a smart phone in that after internet connection was severed, it showed the map area previously loaded. It is possible to download an offline map via the Mapbox app (I will make a video on that, as well!)

The terrain I traversed is extremely rugged with rocky outcrops and valley wetlands, offering a variety of elevation changes and foliage coverage for GPS to penetrate.
