Makeup Collection If I Wasn't A YouTuber

Hey guys!

In todays video I wanted to share with you what I would consider a realistic “non beauty guru” makeup collection.
I am going to be discussing particular brands and products that I am personally using and would continue to use and buy even if I shut my channel down tomorrow HOWEVER I really want you guys to focus way more on the types of products I am speaking about and what to look for.

This video was sponsored by the good people at HiMirror. HiMirror makes these super hi tech futuristic beauty mirrors that have so many useful features that I think you guys would really love. I have had mine for about 4 months now and I have really been enjoying it so far.

PRODUCTS MENTIONED:

Primer:

I personally (and have said several times) don’t believe in primers as much as other people might. I have tried lots of them and in my personal situation I have found that as long as I have agod skin care routine that I dont have much of a need for them. If you have one that you love definitely keep it in the rotation but when it comes to minimal or realistic makeup collection..this has always felt like something I can easily do without.

Foundation:

✖️Featured:
Loreal Tru Match Lumi
Dior Face and Body
Dior Air Flash

The goal here is to zero in on your everyday foundation. In my opjion in a perfect world the more affordable the better. This is the thing you wear all the time and having to constantly replace a 40-60 bucks seems far from realistic to me.

For the “event” /special occasion/date night/weekend/ fun foundation I think you should focus on two different levels of coverage but this could also be about getting two different finishes as well.

You just want two foundations that you can mix and match to achieve multiple styles of coverage. For me that would be a more sheer as well as a more full coverage. For you it might be a more matte finish and a more glow finish.

The point is to learn how to customize and mix so that you are able to achieve whatever look you are going for without needing to buy tons of foundation to do so.

Concealer:

✖️ Featured: NARS Radiant Creamy

This part and the next few are easy peasy…I personally think you need only ONE that works for you. This can be a “but there might be something better product for some people and they just love trying tons which is totally fine, but for me, when I find a good one that’s all I need.

Powder:

✖️Featured: Hourglass Veil Translucent Powder

See above..when you find a good one…stop adding.

Contour / Bronzer/ Highlighter:

✖️Featured: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette & Becca Capri Coast Bronzer

You do not NEED to contour its going to be very dependent on you and your routine but dont assume that it is necessary for everyone. Bronzer kinda does the same thing, its easier to use and looks more natural and on top of that leaving out contouring allows you to skip spending money on an entire category of product.

As far as bronzer: you guessed it! Pick one and you are DONE, baby.

Blush:

My take on this is similar to the take I have about foundation. Which is: ITS ALL ABOUT THE MIX. And for some people blush isn’t even necessary at all…keep that in mind.

I tend to get by and use a neutral and a bright. I have never ever felt like a look I was going for was hurt significantly by the presence (or lack thereof) of a certain blush.

Dont over think it and with all things on this list pay attention to what you ACTUALLY like and do..not what’s being sold to you

EYES:

LOOSE SHADOWS! LOOSE SHADOWS! LOOSE SHADOWS!

I think I covered it in the video pretty well as well as videos past…but I just dont really believe in palettes. Not a fan. Do not stan.

LIPS:

This is the easy place to go bananas but I have never seen or met anyone who ever actually finishes even a portion of the lipstick that they own before they go bad. I always say if that is the case you might as well go into sephora hand them the full price of a lipstick and leave with a sample.

I know that my lip stick preferences skew to nude and red. And thhhaaaaats about it. I at one point had HUNDREDS of lipsticks on my collection and I have to say that is the BIGGEST waste of money as far as my beauty stash. They never got used and lip products go bad way too quickly to justify the purchases.
